Once again the whole clan made the annual pilgrimage over to Aunt Jo's for her awesome feast. Boy was it a feast. Aunt Jo takes the whole week off and fires up enough grub to feed a couple armies....She's even nice enough to make some concoction that the others think is cranberry sauce...Ooo they are so foolish. Listen, only authentic ridges on my cranberry sauce...
Here they all are stuffed inside the hallway...not a frown in the group....It was a great time...I'm very thankful for all of them...Jimmy has the eyeblack from football.....which he and his team were victorious!!! It was sooooo cold there.

Thanksgiving 2018
Another day out
We went to a great coffee place inside the Old Mill and the kids found their own Cubbyhole to enjoy their hippie drinks and snacks...I got myself a coffee...of course
\On the drive home we werent ready to shut it down so off we went to the waterfront for some more football catch and tennis ball ....Catherine of course wanted to play tackle here they are going at it......she does appear so cute most of the time...but she's a tiger!!!
How else can you finish off the day but to go for some pizza and bowling. These two wanted to show off their skills and try to beat Daddy....Not today my little sweet things....But we did have a great time!!!

States at Harvard
Off to Harvard we go for the much anticipated State championships!! She had the flu all week..the timing of it all....but that didnt stop her from practicing and swimming her heart out on Sunday. She ended up with a third and second and two good showings on relays.....She really swam her heart out and was so sick...She never used it as an excuse. You could tell she was disappointed but lets face it...we certainly weren't disappointed......being second and third in the whole state for your age is nothing to sneeze at...thats the standards that she sets for herself...the good thing is that she usually brushes it off and goes on to the next chapter....you have to...All I've ever asked of any of them is to do your best and they never disappoint me....I'm not just saying that....there are some good kids there i must say

There was quite a following of fans to make the pilgrimage too....Mr and Mrs Ring,Umple Eddie, Auntie Jo, Cat, Jack,Erin, Emily and Kara, Nana and Doe, and of course Mommy and Daddy......though Nana got struck with the sickness bug and had to flee unexpectedly early...but she got to see the first half. she mustve been pretty sick to leave early cuz she's a constant fan of Laura's meets....But overall it was a grand ole time. Poor Laura has been recovering and is still a little under the weather a week later....She's a tough son of a gun and fights through these things.

Here is the number one fan....Alex is a great friend (and member of the family I must say)

Red Sox Parade
I am sooooo happy that they got to go to the Red Sox parade with Ant Jo. Yes, they missed skool to go....but its such a cool day and they are very good students so I think they can rebound. Besides, I checked with an official from the End line and I was given a final ruling.....There are no DO-OVERS.so the time to create memories is when they are right in front of you......
Really though, they were so happy and proud to go there....One of the best parts was when Catherine told me that she walked in to Ant Jo's work and everybody knew her, Jack and Erin. Cat was so impressed about how famous she was.......Just hearing them talk about the day made me so happy!!!

Cat told me that Big Papi was in one of the Duck Boats and looked right over at her, Jack and Erin and pointed at them.....What a memory of a lifetime for them....I love this picture, Jack looks immersed in something....probably something that Devers is doing....I just keep looking at this picture and it makes me wonder whats stirring up there....and while i'm thinking about that I see Cathering smiling at me in the background....I mean really, how cant you just love these kids !!!

TRICK OR TREATIN AT THE RINGS |
I love the tradition of having Quinnie come with us.....They got big so fast and these years have gone by so fast....I can remember all of it and its so neat how we soaked it all in and knew when it was happening how special it is. All four of them still have so much fun and smile so often....Its fun to take the ride with them.

HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING
Swimming is a sisterhood for Chelmsford team

By Charlie Wolfson GLOBE CORRESPONDENT
LOWELL — Members of the Chelmsford High girls’ swim team were as upbeat as ever following their Oct. 19 meet. It looked a bit strange after a nail-biter of a 92-91 loss to Haverhill, but the Lions have a lot to be excited about.
They feel more like a family than a team, and they have a sophomore dynamo in defending Merrimack Valley League MVP Laura Latham, as well as a number of freshmen who have found success early in their careers.
“The depth of our team has been a great strength,” said coach Harriet Kinnett.
Latham and senior captains Kelly Marshall and Courtney Morgan had a solid showing against Haverhill, as they have throughout this year. A few freshmen, Kinnett said, have bolstered the team’s depth and helped Chelmsford to its 9-2 record. Those include Neva Fa, Abby Rice, and diver Alana Erlandson
Erlandson took second in the 1-meter dive against Haverhill. Latham competed in numerous events as usual: Her 200 medley relay team took second with a time of 2:01.25, she placed first in the 100 freestyle with a 56.14, her 400 freestyle relay team placed second at 3:58.32, and she set a personal season-best time in the 50 free , which she won with a swift 25.50.
“Laura [Latham] has helped the team a lot, and she’s inspired people her age to swim and inspired some girls older than her to get better,” Morgan said of her teammate.
Marshall said Latham has become one of the team’s leaders despite her young age, and that “girls in her grade look at her as a leader, and even girls older than her.”
The team’s family atmosphere, Marshall said, has been a big factor in their achievements in the water
“The positive environment is great because we can push each other to get good times,” Marshall said. “It’s really comforting for everyone to have those people they trust trying to push them to get better.”
Chelmsford doesn’t have a JV team, so all 30 of the swimmers are together from day one. This reality, Morgan said, makes it feel “like having 30 sisters.”
“I think other teams look at our team as a family. We’re one of the closest teams,” Marshall said. “You’re with the same 30 girls every single day all season, so some strong bonds are formed.”
According to Marshall and Morgan, almost all of the girls have grown up swimming together at one of the area’s two swim clubs, Chelmsford Swim & Tennis or Russell Mill Swim & Tennis Club.
Latham has been swimming since she was 4, and competitively at Chelmsford Swim & Tennis since she was 6. Morgan and Marshall have been swimming together since age 4, and take pride in leading the Chelmsford High School team together all these years later.
“There’s a really strong foundation and it makes us all really comfortable together,” Morgan said. “We’ve all grown up together. It’s a small town.”
So when the final score became clear on Oct. 19, and it turned out they lost by the thinnest of margins, there wasn’t a long face on the Chelmsford side of the pool.
They’re looking forward to a good deal of postseason competition. Morgan will swim at Sectionals in the 200 individual medley, and at States in the 100 breaststroke. Marshall will swim at sectionals in the 50 and 100 freestyle, and at States in the 100 butterfly.
And Latham, remarkably, has qualified for States in all eight events.
“Ms. Kinnett is great,” Latham said. “She helps us a lot with strategy for every meet . . . and the transition last year was really easy because all the girls here were so supportive. It was cool going into school and hearing people talk about swimming.”
She played softball last spring and is considering track for spring 2019, but cherishes swimming the most.
“Being in the pool feels different than any other sport.”
