Guess where we went today!!!

I woke up this Sunday morning and went into the living room with the kiddies.  Sweet old Laura told me that she wanted to make the pancakes today and I was happy to oblige.  There was only minimal help from me and Catherine and Jack wanted to help, of course.  After devouring the wonderful Mickey Mouse pancakes the kids must have wanted to melt my heart because Laura asked what we were doing today.  With Mommy at work Catherine and Jack both said they wanted to go to Black Gordon.....oh well, I love that old, black train.  We went to good old Black Gordon and the train that doesnt move....we were there for a good long time too.  After that we headed out to Georges for lunch and then to Uncle Patricks.  Tomorrow is his birthday so we brought him over his favorite Georges pizza and the kids got to sing Happy Birthday to him....Alas, another successful Sunday....Jimmy slept over Charlies house Saturday night after a night of skiing.  He tells me that he slept until noontime.  Blames his lack of sleep on Jack....he might not be too far off on that.  Jack looks up to him so much.

These crazy kids will usually take a very nice picture for me (smiling i mean) if I tell them that we can take a train crashing picture.  Laura yells to look out, the train is going off the tracks!!!  yeah, strange kids

Laura also gets a kick of climbing on the train where the sign says Keep Off....

Hockey night

We had a chance to have all the kids go see some college hockey.  Before the game we were in the VIP section and got some grub.  UML played against BU and beat them....pretty good game.  The kids had a good time, minus Catherine because she was sleeping at nana's because of gymnastics the next day.  The coach had told her to get some rest and this was serious business for her....She had been very nervous and had some tears for days leading up to it.
The river hawk found his way to Laura and Jack.
It was also a night for Laura's school class to be at the hockey game.  Here she is with her friend Emma.

Laura swim meet

Laura has been slowly but surely recovering from the broken bone in her elbow.  Every so often she has some pain and it sets her back.  Today, she was kicking butt in the pool and she looks like her better days are here again.  She actually took 12 seconds off her butterfly in the 100m and was looking goooood.
So funny, during one of her races she lost her goggles and before she knew what she was doing she stopped to pick them up during the race.  Then, during a 100 meter race the girl next to her stopped after the second leg, apparently she forgot it was a 100 but that caused Laura to come to a complete stop but she caught right up and lost some time also.  Such a hippie....

A return to Black Gordon

We have some catching up to do with pictures and stories.  This was from three weeks ago, Me, Cat and Jack decided to take a weekend day trip to our old friend BG.  First, we stopped at dunkin donuts and got some hot chocolate.  Something about that magical train that hasnt moved in a very long time.  We have added a game of wall ball to our repertoire.  It was kind of tough because there was no bounce in the snow but we made it work anyway.  The kids were very fun and even made a stop at the train that doesnt move to go down the slide.

Can't you just picture this old train flying through the station not so long ago.  We've spent so much time here navigating around the signs that say 'keep off'.  The kids still don't hesitate in going when I bring it up.  Well, Jimmy kind of outgrew it but the other three are still game for just about anything.

Catherines first gymnastics meet...

My lovely little baby had her first gymnastics meet today.  She was very nervous coming into the meet but she went in no problem at all.  Her smile lit up the place from the second she walked in.  Not one moments hesitation when she got on the beam and she just went from there...no problems at all.

Well, I thought I saw this tall girl who looked familiar..she told me her name was Edwina...very suspicious on the bars
Her team finished in third place overall.
My little Cat was thrilled with her three medals on her first meet.  It was so special to hear her name get called.  She was so composed all day.  As the song goes, she came in like a wrecking ball but my little angel pulled it off and decided to smile her way through the day.  She's the sweetest girl I know that Catherine Lay
