Ice Cream farm in the sticks

This place is so cool.....Its an unmanned creamery...way way off the beaten path.  When you find your way there you will find a room filled with ice cream coolers...all at three dollars a piece.  You may take them and just place the money in a bucket....The ice cream was great too...They also had alot of animals on the farm where the kids could check them out.  Cat and Erin went over to the yard where there was a game of cornhole.  Of course Cat is very good at it and there's just no beating her at anything.

Vacation at the lake has begun

The vacation has begun...and thank God for that.  With Erin, Cat, Laura and Alice to accompany me and Mommy (I know the proper way to say it is Mommy and I, but i'm on vacation).  Jackie is home playing baseball and Jimmy has to work unfortunately.  They'll be here next week with everyone else.  Alice, Laura and Mommy could only come up for the weekend so that leaves me with Erin and Cat for the week.  Lets see what trouble we can get into...

We added some decent sized inflatable floats this year.  Erin and Cat were on them for the most part of this weekend and beyond.

Once again Alice joined us.  Her and Laura are so funny together.  To hear those two together is quite the experience....so,so comical.  This week they have decided that they are going to go backpacking in Europe together and they were planning the trip.  Oh boy what a trip that will be.
At the Yum Yum shop
Both of them spent some time on the paddleboards.  At one point Lyn and I joined them on kayak's and we went for a pretty significant distance.  It was pretty tiring considering I had to tow Laura for a while because she was too tired.  It was a pretty decent workout.

Erin and Cat spent quite a bit of time kayaking around the lake too.  They are having themselves quite the time.  Its almost like I drive them there and off they go all day....not really but they dont require much supervision from me.....but the great thing is they are going all day...

Late Sunday afternoon till evening we packed up and headed over to Wolfboro for some ice cream and other treats.  Wolfboro is a very pretty little town with great shops and grub.  Also, that is where the Yum Yum shop is located.  Of course we have to tear into all those great baked goods...

These two gals talked me into going to the Monkey trunks park.  What a difference a couple of years makes.  Cat wanted nothing to do with this place two years ago and tonight she was whipping right through it...

Ziplining Video

Very exciting watching them do all this...They said that their hands were too sore to go on so off we went......over to the grocery store for some steak tips, salad and potato salad....Love that Weber grill we got....I still haven't gone on about my Weber grill but thats a story for another day...They are all sick of hearing about it....but that grill is awesome!!!  Plenty more to come I hope in these next two weeks.....

Independence Day at the lake 2018

And the Rockets red glare....It was a fabulous time at the lake for all involved.  We had quite the full house on this fourth of July holiday.  Its one of those times when you think about throwing a bunch of mattresses on the floor after everyone plays hard all day and plops down on one of them and out you go for the night.  I cant even tell you how many adult and kids we had at the lakehouse but it was full...and hot !! There was nana and doe, Jamie and Kara and all the kids too....and Alice too.   Thankfully, we brought the portable a/c's from the house.  Normally, we are nice and cool at night but this time it was different.  It was muggy!!
I must say, its so fun to have the cousins (Emily and Erin) with us.  Make no mistake about it, Erin runs the place when she's here.  Most of the time she's cooking or letting people know where they should be.  Its got the point where I have to ask permission from her when i come up here....Maybe not, but she really loves the place and i'm happy how comfortable she is up here.

Jackie asked me to take this picture of him with the fireworks behind him.  He was such a good boy the whole time.  He really had a great time during the whole holiday.  Jimmy and Jacob were also here but they stayed at the house....They might be getting too old for these types of things.  They both enjoyed the beach and were partaking in the frolicking..and sunburns too....

And Alice came and seemed to have a blast with Laura once again.  These two are so goofy...what a great time they have.  She's such a nice kid and laughs all the  time with the rest of them.  I dont know whats up with the two shirts though....must have been in the "please take these shirts" discount rack.  The whole holiday really went well....it was a time that we had hoped for when we got this place.
Once again Nana was out and about on the lake..this time on the kayak, taking a ride with Jackie around the islands.
On the fifth we went over to Wolfeboro and got some crepes (or creeps as i like to call them) and some goodies at the Yum Yum shop.  I had never had creeps before...and I must say, i approve of them.  Its a quaint little town with some very rich people there.  When we went into the Creep store there was this young couple in front of us, I called them Biff and Boofy....well, there was quite the line in the place...apparently creeps are popular here...Well, Biff orders a creep and Boofy had taken a seat towards the front of the place.  Biff tells Boofy that there is a 1/2 hour wait to get the creep...Boofy, without blinking, says to Biff "isn't there someone we could talk to".....yes Boofy, you could talk to Jack.  I'm sure he's at least be entertaining to talk to.
