Last second trip to StoryLand

After Jacks birthday in Boston we didnt know what we would be doing on holiday Monday. We knew we wanted to go somewhere but figured it would be Black Gordon and the like. When we woke up all the kids had climbed into the bed. We took a poll where everyone wanted to go. Laura said she wanted to go to StoryLand. We havent gone this year but even still it was a long drive and a whole day thing. Lyn checked the computer and we found out that it was the last day of the season. Off we went a couple of hours later.
It ended up being a beautiful day. The crowds were steady but not crazy like it would be in July. Again, Jimmy and Laura LOVED it. We worry that they are getting too old for this stuff but i'm holding on.
On the ride up and back, we have this radio thing that connects to the ipod and we can listen to the music on the car radio. We must have listed to Sweet Caroline about twenty times. The ride up we were blaring the music big time.

Jackie's 4th Birthday celebration

For jackies birthday we decided to give him a glorious day in boston. we started out by going into the musuem of science. After haning out there for a while we headed over to the Boston Common hoping to ride on the Swan boats. Unfortunately, the swan boats were closed for the season. We still did alot walking around, going to the frog park, running from bathroom to bathroom of course.

We went back to the museum and spent some more time over there watching eggs hatch and playing all kinds of learning games. Off we went to the North End for dinner. Two huge pizza pies at the restaurant later and we wandered around afterwards looking for dessserts to bring to nana's house. Of course it wasnt a matter of finding desserts, it was finding a place with a line that didnt take an hour to get in a place. We ended up finding one and off we went.
It was late by the time we made it to nana's but we ended up having a nice piece of pie with candles on it. A very late night.

A Red Sox Week

It started with a phone call from the Red Sox. The guy on the other side of the phone tells me he's from the red sox and that Jimmy won tickets to the Sox/Yankees game. I had signed them up three weeks ago when we took Jim and Laura with the ump. It was so exciting except they picked Jimmy's name and not Laura. She was a little bummed about it so smart daddy thinks that if I told her she won ten dollars worth of quarters everything would be alright. It wasnt quite. I felt bad. The very next day I got a call from Little Billy that he had tickets for that night. Awesome timing. Laura and I drove to the park, got our special parking and headed for the park. During the ride up she didnt stop talking once. Awesome !Laura wanted to hop on the bike carriage. We jumped in and cut the walk time down. Laura and I stayed until the ninth inning and we had a blast!!
With Jimmy's game, we pretty much knew that we were in for a rainout but figured it would be fun anyhow. Same parking place and sure enough Laura had bragged about the bike ride so Jimmy wanted in too. Only by now it was pouring rain. We were absolutely soaked by the time we got to fenway. We brought a umbrella and just sat there for a little over two hours. We went and sat behind home plate most of the time when we werent grabbing a bit to eat. Eventually, they lifted the tarp off the field and were ready to go when the sky opened up once more. We were soaked and cold and eventually they did call the game.

The next night the game was scheduled to start at 9pm. Sure enough, the first game went into extra innings and we didnt get started until late. We saw my friend Brian at the game and he had two extra seats right on the front along the right field line. We snuck into the front row and moved inward later on and sat closer in the front row.

I forget really who won either game but it was a great time either way. This second game we ended up by taking a bike ride back to the car in my special spot. Great times all around.

Retro Jim and Laura

Slowly but surely they have started to be best buddies again. Here's a picture of them circa 2003.
